JAVA Hi-Fi Expands Range of Home Audio Components

JAVA Hi-Fi, the Auckland, New Zealand-based company founded by Martin Bell, Shane Inder, and Martin Young, following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2016, introduced a new six-strong lineup of pre-amps, integrated and power amplifiers, employing unique circuit designs in the same iconic and refined chassis the company debuted in its first products. The result, the company promises, is exceptional audio quality, designed to cater to the demands of the modern hifi enthusiasts.

Among the main novelties in the range, JAVA Hi-Fi introduced an integrated amplifier that is the first to use GaN FET (gallium nitride) transistors and include LDRs (light dependent resistors) in the same circuit. "When combined, the LDR and GaN FET technology reproduces music with extraordinary realism. Subtle new details are revealed in familiar pieces of music and the listener is enveloped in a tone-rich soundscape that brings them closer to the heart of the musical performance," the company states.

The LDR technology used in JAVA’s preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers works by isolating the signal path from other control electronics, providing the delicate audio signal with the shortest, cleanest possible path from input to output. Meanwhile, the GaN FET-based modules used in the integrated and power amplifiers provides a giant leap forward in Class-D sound, with vanishingly low IMD (intermodulation distortion) and THD (total harmonic distortion). All models are available in what JAVA Hi-Fi calls ‘Single Shot’ or ‘Double Shot’ iterations, featuring a variety of input/output configurations.

Design aesthetics also plays a major role in the new JAVA Hi-Fi amplifiers, with customizable casework and front panels available across the entire range, combining solid 4mm anodized aluminum front panels, with CNC-machined solid wood outer cases with luxury real wood veneers. The finishes are available in mid-century modern notables like walnut and copper, classics such as black on black or minimalist options such as white and silver. Customers can create their own designs on the JAVA Hi-Fi website, using the online configurator.

All JAVA Hi-Fi products are designed and assembled in New Zealand and are shipping worldwide now.
