The term "Lumia" was coined by a twentieth-century artist, Thomas Wilfred, when artists began to promote colors and light together in their works as a form of art that uses light. 'Lumia Art' was originally associated with music then latterly paintings. Various preset light effects are available but users can also customize their own light effects using the Edifier Connect app. This app also allows users to synchronize the front clock automatically or manually, customize their own EQs and share their EQs with friends.
Effectively, the company promotes the QD35 as an all-in-one music system. It is certified to both "Hi-Res Audio" and "Hi-Res Audio Wireless" standards. The USB-A port and the AUX jack on the rear panel support high-resolution audio signals. With the enhancement of LDAC technology, users can also stream high-quality audio with a 96kHz sampling rate to this speaker via Bluetooth. Why would anyone be worried about wireless streaming quality or hi-res audio certifications to listen to music on a compact speaker such as the QD35 is another question.
With a total power output of up to 40 RMS, the audio from the QD35 feeds a 3-inch mid-bass driver, with an aluminum alloy diaphragm that is able to reproduce bass frequencies down to 60Hz and provides a rich midrange sound, extended to the high frequencies with a 1-inch silk dome tweeter. With the enhancement of MazeTube Bass Reflex Channels and TurbMuff Air Noise Suppression Technology, port noises and resonance are reduced to their lowest level and extend the overall response of the compact speaker.
The most intriguing aspect of the design is the fact that the QD35 also combines high-efficiency GaN charging technology benefiting from fast charging, temperature control, and smart power assignment technologies to make charging quick and safe. These features are available on the two USB ports, one USB-C that supports 35W max. (5V = 3A, 9V = 3A, 12V = 2.91A, 15V = 2.33A, 20V = 1.75A) and a USB-A port up to 18W (5V = 2.4A, 9V = 2A, 12V = 1.5A).
