While many audio companies are still dreaming about building IP speakers and other are still trying to understand audio-over-IP, some companies are already building a successful business model out of IP technology and power-over-Ethernet (PoE) installation speakers. OEM design and manufacturing firm CyberData Corporation announced the release of the latest generation of their line of SIP and Singlewire InformaCast enabled Speakers.

The CyberData line of IP speakers, which includes SIP and Singlewire InformaCast one-way and Talk-back notification speakers, includes a host of new features and functions. CyberData has upgraded the processor and memory to enhance overall performance and capabilities. These next generation SIP speakers provide additional features not previously available, such as enhanced interoperability for hosted environments –CyberData has maintained one of the most comprehensive list of IP PBX servers certified to work with CyberData.

The new generation IP speakers also enhances security features, such as support for security code access for SIP paging (Singlewire speakers offer dual registration for both SIP and Singlewire), auto-provisioning via HTTPS, and HTTPS web based configuration. The new speakers allow for standard and optional high noise environment full or half duplex operation, support for higher power PoE 802.3AT standard, and 802.11q VLAN tagging. There’s also a new configurable sense input for use with the company’s fault detection or lighted button kit, configurable event generation for device health and status monitoring and much more.

“We are very excited about these upgrades to our best-selling SIP paging speakers. With these new releases, we’re focusing on the importance of Hosted interoperability and security, which is becoming increasingly important,” commented Phil Lembo, President and CEO of Cyberdata. “Overall we see this as the next generation in SIP Speakers, with the potential for further additional features moving forward. We’re motivated to push beyond what is normally doable, modifying based on customer feedback, and then providing these new features to meet customer demands.”

The Monterey-, California, based company also confirmed it will continue to expand its line of SIP Endpoints based on customers’ needs, and promises more releases throughout the year.
