Cambridge Audio Announces Enhanced Melomania Touch Experience with Firmware and App Updates

August 27 2021, 00:25
Cambridge Audio has announced a significant firmware update for its Melomania Touch true wireless in-ear earbuds, improving transparency mode, providing superior connectivity, improved in-app EQ presets, and refining the functionality of Touch controls. Existing Touch users are also invited to update their Melomania iOS/Android app to the latest version and download the latest V2.1.9 firmware to benefit from these enhancements.

Cambridge Audio has been crafting innovative, beautifully-engineered British audio products for over 50 years, and its London-based design team has ensured the Melomania Touch earbuds are no exception,. Introduced in December 2020, the Melomania Touch TWS earbuds feature hi-fi grade amplification technology and superior performance.

Custom Cambridge Audio 7mm drivers are enhanced with graphene, a lightweight material selected for its outstanding strength and rigidity, offering the dynamism and response needed to deliver deeper controlled bass, realistic voices and clearer highs. The true wireless design incorporates Bluetooth 5.0 technology for strong signal stability and the latest AAC and aptX codecs for high-quality wireless audio.

Additionally, the inclusion of two high quality microphones and Qualcomm’s Clear Voice Capture (cVc) noise-cancelling technology ensures that voice calls remain crisp, clear and free from background noise during working from home meetings on Microsoft Teams, Skype, Zoom and other collaboration tools. In Low Power Mode, the Melomania Touch true wireless earbuds offer 9 hours of battery life on a single charge. Even in High Performance Audio Mode, the earbuds deliver around 7 hours of battery life.

With the latest V2.1.9 firmware Cambridge Audio introduces important enhancements, such as lowering background noise during voice calls and also when Transparency is enabled; improved volume control with TWS+ enabled phones; adding new Neutral EQ preset; and improved operation of auto power on/off and the associated LED indication. Combined, these subtle improvements significantly improve the overall user experience when compared with earlier firmware and apps.

The company also improved the Melomania Touch’s touch controls, supporting a simply tap on the earbuds to play and pause music, skip tracks, change volume, take hands-free calls, switch on Transparency Mode and summon Siri or Google Assistant.

The updated Melomania app, compatible with iOS and Android devices, enhances the experience of using Melomania Touch. With the app, users can customize EQ settings and tailor music playback to your individual sonic style, locate misplaced earbuds using their phone’s map location, and check each earbud’s battery life.

Transparency Mode, which feeds in outside ambient noises so users can be aware of their surroundings, now offers new adjustment levels within the Melomania app. The app also allows users to upgrade Melomania Touch’s firmware, improving the product with more features over time.

“Cambridge Audio’s engineering team is committed to the constant innovation and evolution of the Melomania series of products by listening closely to customer feedback, and this latest update reflects that,” says Cambridge Audio CEO, James Johnson-Flint.

The Melomania Touch true wireless earbuds are available priced at $119.95.
