Audix Introduces Aimable Shotgun Ceiling Microphone

Audix introduced its newest solution for fixed installations, the M45 Shortgun, a miniaturized shotgun condenser ceiling microphone. The new M45 versatile aimable microphone is able to cover up to 150 square feet of area with improved sensitivity to any audible sound, and is ideal for use in corporate or educational classroom style setups, boardrooms and conference rooms as well as larger lecture venues and hospitals.
 

Easy to install and configure, the new Audix M45 is highly versatile, featuring a low-profile, swivel-and-pivot base for convenient positioning. The M45 is optimized for vocal intelligibility (85Hz-8kHz frequency response) and offers high sensitivity of98 mV/Pa at 1kHz,  a maximum SPL of >124dB, an integrated preamp, immunity from RF interference, and can be directly fitted to a 1.5" hole with no additional tools required.

Designed with a supercardioid polar pattern, the Audix M45 features low self-noise with 72dB SNR, and a a dynamic range covering 100dB.
 
The mic-level signal and LED control of each Audix M45 is transmitted over a single, networkable RJ45 connection. An adapter is also included to convert from RJ45 to an 8-conductor pluggable terminal block. For systems using Dante networks, the optional Audix DN4 Enhanced Onramp hub for Dante/AES67 is available for purchase, supporting up to four devices and LED logic control.

The M45 Shortgun is available now for an MSRP of $599 US, finished in brass and aluminum/white.
