Unlike most smaller computer speakers, Audioengine 2+ Wireless cabinets are constructed of 18mm-thick high-density fiberboard, rather than plastic. The woofer cones, of high-quality Aramid fiber with custom voice coils and magnets and rubber surrounds, produce surprisingly low, smooth bass and mid-range. The ferrofluid-cooled silk dome tweeters with neodymium magnets, provide detailed highs. The amplifier is a class A/B designT, located in the left speaker. All circuit boards for the power and preamp sections are vertically mounted for maximum mechanical shock protection.
