Audiodo Personal Sound Technology Powers New Fresh ‘n Rebel’s Clam Elite ANC Headphones

Audiodo announced the newest product to feature their Personal Sound technology in partnership with Dutch lifestyle brand Fresh ‘n Rebel. Fresh ‘n Rebel’s new Clam Elite ANC headphones are the first for the Rotterdam based brand to feature Audiodo’s personalization features. For Audiodo, they mark the fourth product and third over-ear headphones to include the company’s patented technology.

Fresh ‘n Rebel Clam Elite wireless over-ear headphones with digital ANC and Personal Sound by Audiodo are a very interesting new design that also shows the powerful lifestyle appeal for large over-ear headphones.

The headphones are super comfortable to wear, thanks to the generous shape of the headband and the soft protein leather and large moisture absorbing ear cushions. Definitely not headphones that will fail to be noticed. On top of that, the headphones have a low headband pressure and completely isolated circumaural fit.

In conjunction with the Clam Elite headphones, Fresh ‘n Rebel will also be launching a mobile app with the help of Audiodo — the first ever for the brand. The Audiodo Personal Sound feature can be set up through the Fresh ‘n Rebel: Personal Sound app and begins with users completing a simple hearing assessment. Audiodo technology then determines the necessary adjustments to apply and enhances the audio output from the Clam Elite to be optimized for the user’s unique hearing.

Audiodo’s approach is focused on personal hearing profiles. To provide a listener with a truly personal sound experience, the app enabled with Audiodo Personal Sound performs a complete a hearing test. This is an advanced audiometry test, carefully designed to produce a thorough model in a short amount of time. Each ear is assessed separately and the entire calibration takes under 3 minutes. The app instantly computes exactly what changes need to be made to optimize sound quality to best suit the user. No generic compensations are applied.

The Audiodo software libraries and algorithms are built into the Bluetooth chipset of the headphones so that the audio customization remains available permanently on the headphones, and the signature sound of the headphones will be retained. Every headphone model equipped with Audiodo technology is tested, measured and calibrated at the company’s lab in Malmö, Sweden.

These digital Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) headphones have a microphone on the inside and outside of each earcup, which together with the built-in processor and isolating shape of the earcups, results in superior noise cancelling over a bigger range of sound frequencies. And apart from independent personalization for left and right ears that Audiodo allows, the Ambient Sound Mode on the Clam Elite headphones allows users to stay aware of surroundings. The outside microphones amplify surrounding sounds or voices so users can hear everything around them even better, even while listening to music, without taking off the headphones. This offers safety when using headphones outside the home.

As soon as users take off the headphones, the music stops playing. When users put them back on, the music continues where it left off. No need to press pause, because it pauses automatically. Each earcup also offers touch controls to activate Siri or Google Assistant, or control the volume, accept phone calls, etc. And these headphones will keep users listening to music non-stop for 40 hours. Even in long haul flights, when using digital ANC, users can still enjoy up to 30 hours of playtime.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Audiodo and are thrilled to bring our customers the possibility to experience music that’s been customized to fit just them,” says Jeroen Biemond, Director of Product Development at Fresh’n Rebel. “Our brand is all about breaking the mold and we feel that it’s the right time to create new norms in the audio industry. We want everyone to enjoy the best sound possible.”

“It makes our team very happy and proud to see a new headphone equipped with Personal Sound to come to fruition. It means that thousands of new users will now get the chance to experience their headphones with a clarity and richness unlike ever before. For us, there’s no better feeling than knowing that we’re helping brands build products that will really excite their customers,” says John Philipsson, Co-founder at Audiodo.
