Audio-Technica Introduces High-Value ATH-SQ1TW Truly Wireless Earbuds with a Fun Square Design

October 14 2021, 00:30
There’s a lot yet to be explored in true wireless and consumers’ preference for earbud designs. Audio-Technica introduced its ATH-SQ1TW truly wireless earbuds, featuring an all-new square design that combines bold styling with easy operation and great sound quality. Available in a choice of six appealing colors, the ATH-SQ1TW headphones are refreshing because they don’t attempt to copy anyone.
The Audio-Technica ATH-SQ1TW (SRP: US $79.00) is intended as a fun and easy to use entry into the high-fidelity sound of Audio-Technica, with just a great combination of essential features that users will value. Available in licorice/black, popcorn white, blueberry, caramel, popsicle red/navy, and cupcake pink/brown, the earbuds automatically turn on when they’re removed from their supplied charging case, and shut off and begin charging when they’re put back.

The Bluetooth 5 ATH-SQ1TW TWS earbuds are easy to pair when first used, and support Google Fast Pair to readily connect with compatible Android™ devices - at least saving the owners some trouble if they have to deal with Android already. Each earbud features a built-in touch sensor control which allows listeners to control music playback and make and receive phone calls without having to use their smartphone (and there are many good reasons not to when it’s an Android device).
For an affordable product that only supports basic Bluetooth profiles and codecs (not even AAC), the ATH-SQ1TW earbuds deliver decent sound quality for music, games, videos and phone calls, thanks to its exclusive, precision 5.8mm dynamic drivers. This is an area that Audio-Technica is recognized for, and the brand does well in promoting sound quality, first and foremost, even at the entry-level. A low-latency mode ensures minimal audio delay when watching videos or playing games. These Audio-Technica earbuds are lightweight and are supplied with different sizes of eartips to ensure a comfortable fit.

They offer up to 6.5 hours of continuous use with the earbuds fully charged, and up to 19.5 hours when the earbuds and case are completely charged. Thanks to the USB-C connection, a quick-charging function provides about 60 minutes of playback when the earbuds are charged for just 15 minutes. The ATH-SQ1TW can be used in either single-ear or dual-ear mode according to the user’s preference and needs.

Exploring the built-in microphones, the earbuds offer a hear-through function that lets in some ambient sound if desired, letting listeners stay aware of their surroundings. In addition, a handy Voice Guidance function is available to provide notifications about remaining battery level, pairing status and more. The ATH-SQ1TW earbuds have an IPX4-equivalent rain-and water-resistant design, for protection against sudden rain showers. And they are now available.
