The Audio Product Education Institute (APEI), an initiative launched in January 2020 by the Audio Engineering Society (AES) to focus on promoting methodologies, practices and technologies involved in developing and bringing audio products to market, continues to unveil its initiatives to connect the industry online.

The next APEI webinar, will focus once again on the topic of Supply Chain & Sourcing and intends to be the first in a series featuring key factory principals with deep experience in supplying top brands. In the session taking place December 15, registered attendees will be able to hear from Fujikon Industrial's CEO Ben Yeung, and Tonly Electronics' Business Development Consultant, Mark Trainer, about their company's business, challenges in engineering, technology and operations to bring products to market in 2021.

The session will be hosted by Dave Lindberg (DB Enterprises), and Mike Klasco (Menlo Scientific), APEI's chairs on Supply Chain & Sourcing, both with extensive experience and knowledge in supporting brands in turning ideas into products and manufacturing efforts in general. In conversation with the Ben Yeung and Mark Trainer, the session will address topics of enormous importance for the industry at this moment, including how these companies deal with tariff policies and its impact in actual deliveries, the changing landscape of the supply chain with companies expanding operations to new territories like Vietnam, and the pandemic fallout.

During the online sessions, we will learn bout Fujikon Industrial's operations and we will hear from the company's CEO, Ben Yeung, about the company's history, operations and resources. Fujikon (www.fujikon.com) is a manufacturing company with vast expertise in headphone and personal audio technology, which they leverage to the benefit of both their business and brand customers. Ben Yeung shares interesting insights on headphone market segments, and details product trends such as true wireless technologies, ANC platforms and applications going forward. Further highlights cover the current challenges of manufacturing during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the real impacts of global trade issues to their business.

In a rare opportunity to learn about Tonly Electronics Holdings Ltd, one of Asia's largest manufacturing suppliers and ODM solutions provider of audio and video products with cutting-edge resources, registered attendees will hear from Mark Trainer, Business Development Consultant. The conversation covers Tonly's (www.tonlyele.com) company overview, areas of expertise in engineering and how the company manages their vertical integration, which includes an interesting sub-vendor management strategy. As an expert with vast knowledge of the audio industry supply chain, Mark Trainer offers a detailed "virtual factory tour" and a comprehensive overview on Tonly capabilities, global presence, and unique production capabilities and support tools.

Following the introduction by Dave Lindberg and Mike Klasco, each guest answers questions from the two experts regarding some of the topics currently in focus for the audio industry, such as restrictions in traveling, logistical challenges and the dynamics of global economics. The online event will conclude with a live session with all four industry experts, where attendees will have the chance to ask questions.
