Audeze Releases MM-100 Professional Studio Headphones

April 12 2023, 17:00
Audeze, the premium planar headphone manufacturer, announced its latest headphone design made in collaboration with 17-time Grammy-winning engineer/producer Manny Marroquin. The new MM-100 are headphones intended to bring the "studio sound for everyone," with a more consumer-friendly price point. This is the second time Audeze will be teaming up with Manny Marroquin following the launch of the MM-500 in 2022, which immediately received a warming welcome from recording and studio communities.

The MM-100 features Audeze’s latest planar magnetic drivers in a over-ear (circumaural), open-back design, with a new lightweight chassis that combines quality and reliability with improved comfort, as required by audio professionals and enthusiasts. As with previous Audeze products, the MM-100 headphones are assembled in the USA and will retail for $399, with first shipments expected in May 2023.

The MM-100 design is based on the successful MM-500 model, which has earned praise from acclaimed recording professionals since its debut at NAMM 2022. The MM-100 carries forward the highly regarded tuning from Audeze’s 90mm planar magnetic drivers. These efficient, low-impedance drivers make the MM-100 easy to drive from any console, interface, or laptop. As with other Audeze headphones the company's Uniforce diaphragms are matched with Fazor waveguides and Fluxor Magnets to provide improved clarity with class-leading low distortion, and high efficiency to excel with a wide range of audio equipment and techniques.

According also to Audeze, the MM-100 headphones are carefully tuned for accuracy across the audible frequency spectrum to deliver consistent results that professionals can rely on. The newly-designed chassis features premium materials but weighs only 375 grams, ensuring comfort over long sessions. The MM-100 construction uses magnesium/aluminum housings, gel-filled leather earpads, suspension strap, and a spring-steel headband for long-term durability and comfort. This headband folds flat for storage or travel.

"I’m so excited to make studio-quality sound available to a broader audience," states Manny Marroquin. "Everyone working in audio needs a headphone they can rely on, inside or outside the studio," he adds.

"The goal of the MM-100 is to set a new standard in headphone performance for a wide range of users. We worked with Manny to ensure that our professional products work optimally in the most demanding situations," states Audeze CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram.

Audeze will introduce the MM-100 headphones at NAMM 2023, booth #41716.
