Audeze and Embody Update Reveal+ Virtual Studio Plugin

April 12 2021, 00:35
Audeze, the California-based premium headphone manufacturer, announced a significant update to their Reveal+ virtual studio plugin in partnership with Embody, the personalized spatial audio pioneer that focuses on enhancing the listening experience. The new version of the software includes an additional control parameter, two new virtual studios designed by Grammy award-winning artists, and an enhanced control room. Reveal+  is available for download now on Audeze’s website.

The Reveal+ plugin uses cloud computing and powerful artificial intelligence to create a realistic virtual studio listening environment optimized for Audeze headphones. The partnership between Audeze and Embody, launched in 2019, allowed taking the concept of virtualizing reference listening environments on headphones using personalized head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) to a new level of accuracy. Already improved and updated in April 2020, the software is now even more precise, working in combination with Embody’s enhanced AI algorithms that are able to predict an even more precise HRTF for the users' ears, resulting in a much more accurate spatial listening experience on headphones.

Now, the new version 2.0 provides music creators with even more tools to help them perfect their mixes. The updated Reveal+ plugin features an enhanced remastering tool and additional virtual studio environments, enabling content creators to get even more out of their Audeze headphones.

An additional control parameter called HRTF Intensity allows users to adjust the sound field depth and the ability to hear finer details in their mix. And the software adds two new virtual studios. The first is Echo Bar Studios, designed and operated by Grammy and Platinum award-winning artists Bob Horn and Erik Reichers, and the second is the Diamond Suite control room, located at the SAE Expression College in Emeryville, CA.

The new Reveal+ plugin also introduces a cleaner user interface, where the artists’ studios are prominently featured. And the pricing scheme was changed to allow adding support for multiple users. This means that the plugin is available for one flat price for all of users in a studio, and each member of the technical team can maintain their own unique profile and configuration in the plugin.

"The updated Reveal+ plugin, incorporates all three major aspects of a true immersive audio experience," states Audeze CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram. "Our long term relationship and collaboration with Embody has led to this all-in-one multimedia software platform allowing creators to produce the best audio experience from our headphones," he added.

The update is available for free to existing users. Reveal+ is available for download at www.audeze.com/products/reveal. A lifetime license for Reveal+ costs $199 or $139 for owners of Audeze headphones. Audeze also announced new Reveal+ Producer bundles with the company's latest LCD-X, LCD-XC and LCD-MX4 Reference Headphones. Anyone who wants to try the plugin can do so for free during 14 days.
