The big news is that this is a fully updated design, that is now fully compatible with the latest Apple Airplay 2 protocol, allowing users to stream audio throughout the house from and to the latest macOS, iOS or Apple TV devices, including sending one source to multiple destinations.
Beyond Airplay 2 support, this board is also ready to support any possible source of wireless audio streaming, including dual band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 support. For DIYers and builders, this means building a wireless speaker, wireless streamer, or simply converting a traditional stereo system into an advanced wireless multiroom streaming system.
The Up2stream HD DAC board supports 24-bit/192kHz audio streaming and, thanks to the built-in ESS 9038Q2M converter, it offers the best quality output from those sources, which now include also aptX HD streaming from Bluetooth.
