World’s First Wireless Music Sharing Fitness Headphone with Walkie-Talkie Mode
August 19 2015, 04:00
SOUL Electronics is promoting its Combat+ Sync fitness headphones, combining sound quality, comfort and durability for the most intense workout sessions with a innovative walkie-talkie functionality and wireless music sharing via Bluetooth. The project was launched on Kickstarter.
SOUL Electronics, a Hong Kong pro and consumer audio lifestyle brand, introduced the Combat+ Sync fitness headphone, which they claim - and probably is - the world’s first wireless fitness headphone with a walkie-talkie functionality capable of sharing music wirelessly via Bluetooth.
“The Combat+ Sync is the result of in-depth research and development, analyzing and understanding consumer feedback, and ample testing from our group of professional athletes,” says Arjay Jones, Marketing Manager for SOUL Electronics. “We’ve kept what consumers loved on the original Combat+ and added the features fitness enthusiasts were craving for.”
Launching through a Kickstarter campaign, the Combat+ Sync combines a rich bass and “pin-drop clarity” sound with the comfortable and secure design of the company’s Combat+ over-hear headphones. The Combat+ Sync version, supports up to 15 hours of wireless play time using Bluetooth v4.0 and APTX and maintains the ergonomic design built for durability and comfort, including the flexible headband of the Combat+ and an embedded touch control for cell phone remote functions.
The sweat-proof design also features passive noise isolation to block out unwanted distractions, with washable and interchangeable mesh ear pads to increase comfort. But apart from being wireless, the Combat+ Sync introduces a new innovative music sharing function between two Combat+ Sync headphones, allowing for synchronized workouts and music sharing between users. The same wireless connection concept between headphones inspired the company to engineer a built-in walkie-talkie function to motivate workout partners - which makes complete sense for the targeted applications. The built-in microphone not only allows communication between users, but also eliminates the need to remove the headphone to answer calls.
According to SOUL Electronics, although the music sharing is limited to a pair of headphones within Bluetooth range, the walkie-talkie function allows communication within a group using Combat+ Sync headphones, within a 10 mile radius. This also allows staying connected with a group or sports team, even in remote areas without cellular network.
The project can be supported on Kickstarter (click here to support the project) where the company is also accepting suggestions and feedback to refine the Combat+ Sync. One of the targets includes the development of a dedicated fitness app. Estimated shipping date for the Combat+ Sync is February 2016.
