The DE52 HF driver is specified for 140 W continuous program power capacity, with a 1.4” horn throat diameter, 51 mm (2”) aluminium voice coil, HT Polymer diaphragm and a frequency response from 1,000 to 17,000 Hz, with a 108-dB sensitivity.
“Our goal here was to fill the gap between small and large diaphragm high frequency drivers, offering excellent value for point source applications”, says Alessandro Pancani, Chief Technology Officer for B&C Speakers. “The 2” diameter diaphragm DE52 offers excellent performance in a 1.4” exit, wide response driver.”
The ferrite magnet DE52 features a copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) voice coil mounted on a new high-temperature polymer diaphragm. The phase plug is specifically optimized for the DE52 diaphragm.
B&C MBX Series
B&C will be exhibiting at the ProLight+Sound show being held in Frankfurt, Germany from April 15–18, 2015. (Booth 8.0C32). In addition to a variety of new products released throughout the last year, B&C will be featuring the new MBX Woofer Series, 6MBX44 and 8MBX51. Also new is the 1000w, value-oriented 18RBX100 Subwoofer.
The new MBX series was designed as a general-purpose woofer, well suited to application in two-way, point source systems. The MBX Series offer an excellent balance between low and mid frequency reproduction, with higher sensitivity than current, similar alternatives. “As full-range enclosure sizes continue to shrink, the MBX series were a logical addition to our line”, says Ron Tizzard, Director of Sales for B&C Speakers. “We already have significant demand for this type of woofer from our OEM partners, so bringing them to the general market was an obvious next step”.
The MBX series features a neodymium ring magnet, copper clad aluminum wire voice coil wire, ventilated voice coil gap, and an aluminum demodulation ring that reduces distortion. Current models include the 6” 6MBX44 and 8” 8MBX51, with a 10” model also in the development.
