Audio Precision Releases APx500 V4.0 Software

November 13 2014, 07:00
Audio Precision, announced the availability of the latest release, version 4.0, of their popular APx500 audio test software. The release coincides with the commencement of APx555 shipments, AP’s newest audio analyzer. Introduced in September, the APx555 raised the performance bar for audio test systems everywhere.

Version 4.0 provides a multi-mode user interface for the entire APx family of analyzers, adding Bench Mode to complement the software’s existing approach of user-selectable automated measurement sequences, now called Sequence Mode. With APx systems used throughout the product development process—from design, debug and validation to final production test—v4.0 was developed with system flexibility in mind. APx500 software now offers easy switching between Sequence Mode’s fast and efficient menu of measurements and Bench Mode’s free-form, real-time operation of generator and analyzer for feedback on any selected parameters.

The flexibility and utility of APx test systems has them spanning the product life-cycle, whether the device under test (DUT) is an audio converter, a hearing aid, an automotive infotainment system or pro-audio mixing console. Measurement reliability from the development lab to the manufacturing line is incredibly important in understanding DUT performance as it migrates from prototype to product and APx software supports such test consistency by enabling sharing of projects created in Sequence Mode.

“While the AP team is certainly proud of the new performance level we’ve achieved with the APx555, we’re equally gratified in delivering new functionality to APx users everywhere with the release of APx500 v4.0,” confides Dave Schmoldt, AP President. “Even more delightful is that these new software capabilities are, with few exceptions, provided free of charge to our customers.”
