PRV Audio Introduces new Mid Bass and Mid Range Drivers for 2018
PRV Audio announced two new mid frequency drivers optimized for very powerful pro audio applications. The 10MB800FT is a rugged 10" mid bass woofer that combines a remarkable SPL output with low distortion and extended bass response, optimized for compact enclosures and larger 2 or 3 way systems. The 8MR600X focuses on high output mid range performance, with a sensitivity of 98 dB, using a 2" voice coil to ensure high heat dissipation and the necessary motor strength to deliver high sensitivity even on high power with the minimum distortion.

Tymphany and XMOS to Showcase New Soundbar with Alexa Built-In at IFA 2018
Tymphany and advanced embedded voice solutions specialist XMOS announced the latest project in building a new Amazon Alexa Built-In soundbar that will be demonstrated at Amazon’s exhibit at IFA in Berlin, 31 August to 5 September 2018. The global audio ODM company will show how the new soundbar combines its acoustic expertise to create an immersive audio experience, featuring XMOS' Vocal Fusion far-field voice processor.

This 4 Zone, 8 Channel, solution was specially designed for custom integration of whole home audio systems, featuring ICEpower amp modules and ESS converters inside. The "AMP" serves as a companion amplifier for the Yamaha XDA-QS5400RK to expand speaker coverage and/or increase power output.
Audio Precision Mourns the Passing of Co-Founder Bob Metzler
Audio Precision is mourning the loss of co-founder, and former president, Bob Metzler. Along with Dr. Richard Cabot, Bruce Hofer and Robert Wright, Bob founded Audio Precision in 1984 and served as the organization’s president until his retirement in 1999. A prolific author and gifted speaker, for many in the industry, Metzler was seen as the “face” of the famous audio test and measurement company, based in Beaverton, Oregon.

New IMF Specification for Broadcast and Online Content Exchange
There is a new important file specification for media exchange now specified by the SMPTE and published in document number SMPTE TSP 2121:2018, titled "IMF Application DPP (ProRes)." This new specification was proposed by the Digital Production Partnership (DPP) and builds on the existing Interoperable Master Format (IMF) standard developed and published by the SMPTE, which was originally designed for streamlining the distribution of premium feature film content.
