The Wireless Speaker and Audio (WiSA) Association is continuing its strategic growth with the addition of two members. Sound United is returning to the Association’s roster with Eastech - the company behind Punktkilde and Scan-Speak brands and considerable Asia-based manufacturing facilities - also joining as a member. Both companies join WiSA as it continues to experience significant membership growth with major suppliers, manufacturers and speaker brands in the audio industry.
WiSA is an industry group dedicated to bringing truly immersive sound experiences into the home through high resolution, wireless, multi-channel audio products. In the last year, WiSA has welcomed HARMAN International, Xbox, VOXX International, GoldenEar, Electrocompaniet, Almando, Primare and Infineon technologies as members.
Sound United now returns to the Association’s roster, which means WiSA extends its membership with established brands such as Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Classé, Definitive Technology, Polk BOOM, HEOS, and Boston Acoustics, with each brand offering a unique approach to bringing home theater and music to life. As a WiSA member, Sound United’s brands will have access to WiSA’s specification, technical support, testing protocols and manufacturing partners to bring interoperable, wireless home theater products to market. The membership will allow its brands to take advantage of the growing wireless home theater market on a global basis and launch wireless home theater products from a variety of brands.
Founded in 1971 and headquartered in New Taipei, Taiwan, Eastech engages in the research and development, design, manufacture, and sale of speaker systems and headphones, and high end and smart speaker and audio video home entertainment systems. As a total solution acoustic provider, Eastech continues to be a leading developer and manufacturer for top-tier brand names in the consumer electronics industry.
The addition of Eastech further expands WiSA’s footprint in the Asia-based manufacturing industry with Hansong and GGEC also serving as members. Now, WiSA members will have access to a larger base of manufacturers who are familiar with the integration of WiSA’s innovative technology into the product development process.
“We are thrilled to welcome back Sound United, who served as one of the founding members of WiSA, and to add Eastech to our diverse member roster,” says Tony Ostrom, president of WiSA. “It is an exciting time as we continue to experience unprecedented member growth. These new relationships with Sound United and Eastech are important steps in furthering the adoption and availability of the perfect wireless home theater experience for consumers around the globe.”
WiSA’s innovative technology allows audio brands to deliver an immersive audio experience with interoperable products that are extremely simple to set-up. It enables wireless and multi-channel communication of low-latency, tightly synchronized, high-definition audio between any WiSA-certified components, making it ideal for home theater systems while eliminating the complexities of traditional wired solutions.
