Expanding its line of premium and performance-based drivers, designed and manufactured under the Bold North Audio brand, MISCO announced the introduction of the BWX-6501 & BWX-6502, two high performance 6.5" high excursion woofers with an XBL2 motor design and 10 mm linear Xmax. These new models add to a growing line of premium and performance-based drivers, all designed and manufactured in MISCO’s own facility in St. Paul, Minnesota.

American audio solutions manufacturer, MISCO, announced the introduction of the BDT-2901, a high performance 29mm soft dome tweeter to add to its growing line of premium and high-performance drivers, all designed and manufactured under the Bold North Audio brand in its St. Paul, Minnesota facility. Expanding the brand's catalog, this new driver was designed to meet requests for a precision 29mm dome tweeter with a low crossover point, ideal for use in a two-way system paired with a 6.5” or 8” woofer.

The annual ALMA International Symposium & Expo (AISE) 2019, took place June 9–10 at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Universal Orlando, just prior to InfoComm 2019. MISCO recently unveiled a brand new version of a legendary driver. The new MS10-W, will be marketed under the new MISCO brand, Bold North Audio, and it is effectively a direct replacement for the famous white driver on Yamaha’s NS10 studio monitors! The MS10-W actually includes a lightweight white flat profile seamed paper cone with a white paper convex dust cap, and compliance is provided by a 12 mm wide coated cloth surround and a 3.25” diameter cupped cloth spider.

MISCO announced that, as of January 1, Tom James has joined their engineering group to serve in the newly created role of Senior Engineer of Applications and Design. Tom James is well known and highly respected among speaker designers. Earning his BSEET with Audio Elective degree from Western Kentucky University in 1985, Tom’s practical experience includes over 30 years in positions conducting loudspeaker development.

MISCO announced that the company has completed its acquisition of the Oaktron division of Mitek. Oaktron will relocate from Monroe, Wisconsin to Minneapolis and will operate as a wholly owned division of MISCO. Oaktron Senior Development and Manufacturing engineer, Nick Leiendecker will continue with MISCO-Oaktron under the new ownership. Nick’s 30 years of experience and dedication to Oaktron will provide continuity of product support and manufacturing for MISCO-Oaktron’s customers and products.

MISCO Extends Testing & Acoustic Design Lab Services With Warkwyn Acquisition

Loudspeaker and audio systems manufacturer MISCO has acquired Warkwyn Associates, an independent acoustic design, measurement, and testing lab. MISCO president Dan Digre says that Warkwyn will continue to provide its same high level of services for current Warkwyn customers. Warkwyn has relocated from Pakenham, Ontario to MISCO’s home base of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
