For CES 2024, Tectonic promises exciting demonstrations of its latest OEM speaker designs and cutting edge engineering services capabilities. Confirmed for the Las Vegas show are two new Tectonic drivers: Basalt, a 3:1 aspect ratio Mid-HF Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) with exceptional directivity over both long and short axes; and Andesite, a low profile Symmetric Drive Woofer for very slim products. Two reference designs will showcase the possibilities for ultra-slim TVs and soundbars.

New DN20.300T Expands Premium HF Neodymium Magnet Options from Lavoce

Anticipating the early 2024 tradeshows, Lavoce Italiana announced the DN20.300T, a larger version of the flagship 1.4" throat compression driver with 3" voice coil, the existing DN14.300T. The new DN20.300T uses a uniquely optimized throat adaptor which has been carefully engineered to expand the exit to 2" with no degradation of performance. The new compression driver also offers improved thermal dissipation from motor to horn by increasing the adaptor surface area in direct contact with the driver motor.

Klippel Releases dB-Lab Version 212 and QC 7 Update

Klippel released the dB-Lab 212.616 and QC 7.5 maintenance update for the Klippel Analyzer System. The October 2023 software release is now available and features significant revisions to the Klippel Endurance Test (KET) as well as extended analysis opportunities for R&D modules like Multi-Tone Measurement (MTON) and Time Frequency Analysis (TFA). The update is free of charge for all users running dB-Lab 212 or QC7.

Tymphany and Exeger To Launch Self-Powered Speaker at CES 2024

Exeger, the manufacturer of Powerfoyle energy-harvesting technology, announced a partnership with Tymphany, the manufacturer of audio systems, acoustic modules and drivers and one of the largest OEM/ODMs in the audio industry, to produce a self-powered speaker which will be unveiled at CES 2024. Tymphany's Hybrid-life Green Speaker, under development, will be powered by Exeger's patented solar cell technology, which converts all forms of light into electricity.
