InnoPhase IoT, a semiconductor company specializing in ultra-low power Wi-Fi, and GreenWaves Technologies, the company pioneering ultra-low power AI and DSP processors for hearables and connected devices, announced the development of a lossless audio reference design for Wi-Fi headphones. In collaboration with Danish pioneer IDUN Audio, InnoPhase and GreenWaves have created a platform that enables Spatial Audio for hearables and headphones with extended range and long battery life.

IOT747 announced a new low latency feature for its IDC777 ultra-low power module. The IDC777 is a fully integrated dual mode LE Audio (LC3 Codec Auracast and Unicast) and Classic Bluetooth module, optimized for Bluetooth wireless audio designs. Noble Audio Debuts XM1 2-Way IEMs with xMEMS driver and USB-C Connection

Noble Audio announced the launch of XM1, the company’s first wired USB-C In Ear Monitors (IEMs). Following the announcement Noble would be releasing the Falcon Max TWS earbuds featuring a hybrid arrangement with MEMS-based drivers from xMEMS Labs, the company now demonstrates its commitment to the technology also in in-ear monitors. The XM1 IEMs are intended to improve audio quality for smartphone users through a 2-way design that combines an 8.3mm dynamic driver woofer and xMEMS' Cowell tweeter.

More importantly, Apple introduced new AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with USB-C charging capabilities and anticipated new audio experiences to all AirPods Pro models with iOS 17 updates. Between the lines there is an announcement about an upcoming "groundbreaking wireless audio protocol" supporting lossless audio over 5GHz.

Sony Interactive Entertainment - the Sony division responsible for the PlayStation products - announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Audeze, the renowned planar magnetic headphone manufacturer, which has been increasingly also recognized in the high-end gaming headphones space. Sony also announced its latest PlayStation Portal device which connects to new wireless earbuds, and also the new Pulse Elite headset, which uses planar magnetic drivers from Audeze - all launching later in 2023 using a new proprietary wireless lossless audio technology developed by Sony.

xMEMS Labs and Bujeon Electronics have partnered to create a family of 2-way speaker modules to accelerate design of next generation high-resolution and lossless audio-capable TWS earbuds. The solution integrates a high-performance 9mm dynamic driver custom-designed by Bujeon with an xMEMS' Cowell tweeter, the world’s smallest monolithic MEMS microspeaker at just 22mm. The reference design combines an xMEMS Aptos MEMS speaker amplifier to create a "drop-in" solution compatible with today’s leading TWS system-on-chips.

The compatible head units include the new Alpine Halo11 iLX-F511, the Alpine Halo9 iLX-F509, the iLX-507, and Jeep-specific radios i509-WRA-JK and i509-WRA-JL. Alpine is the first aftermarket car audio company with full TIDAL integration, allowing subscribers to the service to stream and download hi-res files in MQA format or lossless audio at CD quality.
