Axign B.V. received an equity investment from KBC Focus Fund as the lead investor, together with Innovation Industries and Oost NL. This investment round enables Axign to mass produce and launch the company’s unique range of audio devices worldwide. Additionally, the new funding will support the development and introduction of next-generation devices for active speakers and streaming audio systems.

Currently celebrating her 20th year as an AES member, Roginska has served in numerous leadership roles within the Society. Professionally, she currently holds the positions of Professor of Music Technology and the Vice-Chair of the Music and Performing Arts Professions Department at New York University.

148th AES Vienna 2020 Convention Officially Cancelled - AES Virtual Vienna Convention set for June 2–5, 2020

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) Vienna 2020 convention was cancelled. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the 148th Audio Engineering Society International Audio Convention scheduled for May 25 – 28 at the Austria Center Vienna will not take place. The AES Virtual Vienna Convention in now set for June 2–5, 2020, with an online format. AES Virtual Vienna will offer a program of sessions that will be broadcast throughout the 4 days, after which they will be available on-demand, available to all registrants.

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) has been named a recipient of a Technical & Engineering Emmy Award for “Development of Synchronized multi-channel uncompressed audio transport over IP Networks” by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). The 71st annual Technical & Engineering Emmy Awards will be presented in a special ceremony at the upcoming NAB Show at the Wynn Encore Hotel on Sunday, April 19, 2020, in Las Vegas, NV.

ALTI (formerly ALMA) is loudspeaker-centric but does not have a strong base in China. And although you may not have heard about iSEAT, for most Chinese speaker engineers that is their preferred professional organization. The International Symposium on Electro-Acoustic Technologies (ISEAT), founded in 2007, is held every two years and has successfully conducted six sessions.

On Tuesday, October 15, in New York, Sony, together with four music streaming services and an important number of music industry partners promoted a press event to announce the new 360 Reality Audio music ecosystem. This follows the presentations made early at CES 2019 and a repeat of the demonstrations at IFA 2019 in Berlin. At this event, Sony announced the upcoming commercial availability of 360 Reality Audio, an immersive audio experience utilizing object-based spatial audio technology.
