Celestion announced the worldwide availability of the CDV1-1757 compression driver. The CDV1-1757 was designed for optimum vocal clarity across the critical vocal band, which makes this driver especially well suited to applications such as mass notification systems, emergency evacuation systems as well as long-distance call to prayer loudspeakers. It features a next- generation proprietary Sound Castle diaphragm clamping system for improved reliability, while a standard 1.38” (35mm) screw fitting provides maximum compatibility with a range of Celestion and third party horn flares.

Celestion Expands Classic Guitar Speakers with New Ruby and G10 Creamback Models

VC - Unveiled for the first time at NAMM 2019, the new Celestion Ruby is an alnico-magnet guitar speaker that’s purpose-built to create vintage tones – and at 35-watts power handling, it’s ideal for use with mid-powered amps and combos. The other new model is the G10 Creamback, a 10" addition to Celestion guitar range, hand-built in the UK using the same production methods and materials developed for the 12-inch models. The G10 Creamback uses a ceramic magnet and a 1.75-inch voice coil to deliver 45-watt power handling.

Test Bench: Celestion CDX14-2420 1.4” Compression Driver

In this Test Bench I characterized the CDX14-2420 1.4” compression driver from UK Pro Sound OEM manufacturer Celestion. Designed for use with 1.4” throat horns, the CDX14-2420 has a 35.6 mm (1.4”) throat diameter driven by a 60 mm (2.4”) diameter voice coil wound with edgewound copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) on a high-temperature fiberglass non-conducting former, which drives a deep-drawn titanium diaphragm and polyimide surround. Test Bench: Celestion AN2075 2" Full-Range Compact Array Driver

The Celestion AN2075 has a 2”-diameter aluminum cone neodymium motor full-range transducer primarily intended for use in line source arrays. The AN2075 is built on a proprietary six-spoke molded-glass reinforced ABS frame. At the 2019 NAMM Show, Celestion is showing the new CDX14-2410 1.4” exit, high frequency ferrite magnet compression driver. This is the latest in the line of “ultra-low noise” compression drivers from the brand, featuring a patented phase-plug design which, together with a unique “deep-drawn diaphragm” results in more accurate sounding HF, exhibiting much lower distortion than many comparable devices already on the market.

Following earlier presentations at several international trade-shows, Celestion announced the Winter NAMM debut of the Axi2050 wideband axiperiodic compression driver, which will be on display with “The Big Red Horn” at the company’s second booth in the Pro Audio Hall (ACC North, Level 2, Booth 18100). This high output single diaphragm driver is able to perform the role of two speakers in one with no crossover required and is one of the latest examples of the type of innovation Celestion is bringing to pro audio market.
