In clear party mode to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Spanish professional loudspeaker manufacturer Beyma introduced several new products at this year’s Prolight+Sound show in Frankfurt. The debuts include three new high performance subwoofers that expand even more the unique LEX range, with its mix of artistic and optimized mechanical design. Beyma also expanded its portfolio in the woofers section with a new 14” driver, a new format for the company, and introduces a new 1,4” exit small compression driver.

Beyma is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a professional loudspeaker manufacturer, and the Spanish company has just launched a brand new website that signals the company's long-standing tradition has a successful supplier of reliable and innovative speakers to many renowned pro audio brands throughout the world. The 50th anniversary celebrations have already started with Beyma's presence at the 2019 Winter NAMM show, and will continue throughout the year, including a party scheduled already for Prolight+Sound 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany.

The TPL75 is one of the Air Motion Transformers (AMT, aka Air Velocity Transformer) that Acustica Beyma has developed for pro sound applications. Part of the success of Beyma’s AMTs for pro sound comes from its proprietary X-Bow technology, which opens as much as possible the mechanical constraint in the diaphragm, allowing it to manage higher temperatures, increasing the limit of the power the diaphragm can handle. In this edition of Test Bench, Vance Dickason characterized a different high-frequency transducer: the TPL200/H, a horn-loaded pro sound AMT from the Valencia, Spain, company Acustica Beyma. The TPL200/H is one of the Air Motion Transformers (AMT, aka AVT Air Velocity Transformer) that Beyma has developed for pro sound applications and is a Kapton horn-loaded version of the highest power handling AMT in their AMT line, rated at 120 W AES (24 W program), with a sensitivity of 104 dB 1 W/1 m. And to reinforce even more its woofer choices for 2018, the Spanish company announced a new family of 4 neodymium woofers with patented Maltcross technology. Beyma also unveiled three new compression drivers of small size.'

This article, a Danish blueprint for an “invisible” subwoofer was originally published in audioXpress July 2006 and it is the first of two by Bjorn Johannesen. In this first article, the author describes a successful transmission line to replace a vented sub, inspired by Rick Schultz articles. A project where the first approach revealed a resonance frequency lower than expected — lower than the driver’s Fs, leading him to study Martin J. King’s quarter wave design.
