USound and OBO Pro2 Release Greip Dual-Input Microspeaker Module

July 5 2024, 01:10
USound, the MEMS microspeaker pioneer announced a strategic cooperation with OBO Pro2 to manufacture a new audio module that exceeds the requirements for high-resolution in-ear monitors (IEMs) and true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, including ANC-based designs. Incorporating OBO Pro2's cutting-edge Silicone Rubber technology and a USound MEMS driver, the new Greip dual-input speaker module enables superior audio performance and integration flexibility.

According to OBO Pro2, an experienced audio manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan with manufacturing operations in Dongguan, China, high-volume production of the Greip module has already commenced, and quantities are already available for sale. Designed to exceed the demands of companies seeking a high-fidelity, plug-and-play audio solution, the new module boasts an electrodynamic driver enhanced with Silicone Rubber - a technology perfected by OBO Pro2 to ensure louder, smaller, drivers with improved bass output.

Expanding on existing cooperation between the Taiwan OEM/ODM and the Austrian MEMS company, a USound MEMS speaker was selected for its unparalleled audio clarity and integration flexibility to expand the frequency response of the dynamic driver. The combination makes the Greip module an ideal choice for applications requiring high bass, active noise cancellation (ANC), and high-resolution audio.

According to the announcement, the Greip Audio Module will provide a superior bass response and durability when compared with other drivers of the same size currently available for earbuds and high end IEMs, while the USound MEMS driver ensures a frequency expansion into the high frequencies that matches expectations for high-resolution audio products with exceptional sound quality.

The other obvious benefit is to offer a superior solution for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), effectively reducing ambient noise in an extended range of frequencies, while offering an easy integration into various audio designs, reducing time-to-market for manufacturers.

Ferruccio Bottoni, CEO of USound GmbH, commented on the cooperation, stating, "We are excited to partner with OBO Pro2 to bring the Greip audio module to the market. This collaboration combines USound's innovative audio technology with OBO Pro 2's manufacturing expertise, allowing us to deliver a superior product that addresses the growing demand for high-quality audio solutions."

Apart from the target true wireless and IEM applications, OBO Pro2 expects the Greip audio module to also find potential applications in other consumer electronics categories, automotive audio systems, and even professional audio equipment. Its plug-and-play nature, replacing single driver designs, ensures that manufacturers can effortlessly integrate it into their products, providing end-users with an improved two-way audio experience.

"Our manufacturing capabilities are perfectly aligned with the sophisticated requirements of the Greip module. We are proud to work alongside USound to produce a module that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the audio industry," adds Dennis Feng, GM of OBO Pro2.
