Since being founded in 1991, MAG Audio evolved from being one of the top European manufacturers of magnets to become a full featured audio manufacturer with two separate divisions: MAG Audio, which produces speaker equipment for professional grade venues and tours, and MAG Cinema, which is focused on providing speaker systems to cinemas across the world. In 2020, the MAG Theatron brand was added to the portfolio with the aim of meeting the needs of home theater enthusiasts. Today, MAG equipment is installed in more than 120 countries, and MAG loudspeaker systems are chosen by many clubs, discos, entertainment complexes, concert halls and sound distribution companies around the world.
Besides offering full speaker systems and transducers, MAG Audio provides a complete range of services in engineering, installation, setup and maintenance of sound and light complexes. For the past years, MAG Audio has been promoting mainly its speaker systems range, and anyone visiting the company's website will find mainly just that. But apparently the company continues to design and manufacture separate speaker drivers and now announced that it is extending its range of innovative professional transducers.
According to the company, this latest expansion of its driver portfolio is a direct response to industry trends, with growing demand from professional sound equipment manufacturers constantly looking for new ways to fulfill demanding, and sometimes contradictory requirements of the modern professional audio market. A demand that is being felt in all types of sound reinforcement applications, from cinema and installation to integrated solutions, and a wide variety of music reinforcement applications.

"Much more options are available today with widely available Class-D amplifiers, allowing for lightweight, energy-efficient and cost effective units, fostering the desire to create compact, lightweight and more powerful solutions," MAG Audio shares. "Following this philosophy, the 21" woofer format is often, and undeservingly, overlooked because of its size and weight. However, as practice shows, a carefully designed single unit 21" subwoofer can outperform a typical dual 15" subwoofer, while preserving cabinet size and even lowering the weight. Of course, this calls for an optimized and highly reliable transducer unit."
Meeting those demanding requirements, MAG Audio set out to provide the most fitting and cost effective solution possible, and its engineers have developed the new M2108 21" ferrite transducer with specifically vented box optimized parameters. The new woofer features a high temperature inside/outside 4,5" voice coil, glass fiber reinforced cone, and dual demodulation ring improving distortion behavior and voice coil cooling. Other features include the traditional MAG Audio self-centering removable magnet system for ease of repairs and increased reliability, with a weight of 15,7Kg.
The new M2108 is backed-up with a 3-year MAG Audio warranty and highly competitive prices, the new woofer is now available to meet demand from innovative and forward-looking manufacturers and integrators.
