Kardome Provides Superior Voice Recognition on NVIDIA AGX Platform

March 18 2025, 00:55
Kardome, the voice recognition and control software company, announced that its Kardome Mobility solution is now available on the NVIDIA AGX Platform. Running Kardome's Spatial Hearing AI, the technology is able to capture individual voices from up to six seats with a single mic array. The solution runs on the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin in-vehicle computer and enables precise voice recognition, considerably enhancing the in-cabin voice experience and reducing costs for OEMs and automotive manufacturers.

The Kardome Mobility solution now available on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX sets a new benchmark for automotive voice recognition and communication systems, allowing for voice isolation, speaker identification, and highly accurate speech processing in noisy environments. According to Kardome, its Spatial Hearing AI technology, running on the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin in-vehicle computer, creates a superior cabin experience, resulting in frustration-free and personalized in-vehicle experiences.

The NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform includes all the hardware and software necessary to develop this type of intensive computing solutions. It's an open and modular platform running NVIDIA DriveOS and when coupled with supported sensors and accessories,  it accelerates all types of in-vehicle AI applications. With the benefit that software can then be further updated over the air (OTA), enhancing the vehicle over time.

The NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin SoC (system-on-a-chip) delivers 254 TOPS (trillion operations per second) and is the central computer for intelligent vehicles. It’s a powerful scalable solution for AI cockpits, now in full production.

Unlike other audio front-end solutions, Kardome Mobility clusters speech signals based on location, enabling advanced voice user interface applications, with multiple people inside the vehicle being able to give clear, understandable commands to their devices. The Spatial Hearing software treats each person in any environment as if they are the only person talking. This focus contrasts direction-based technology, such as beamforming, which provides limited performance indoors or in any closed environment.

The Kardome Mobility solution locates, identifies, and isolates individual users from up to six zones using a single microphone array in the overhead cabin. This significantly improves the user experience while reducing hardware and manufacturing costs.  Apart from speech separation, Kardome's Spatial Hearing AI technology processes input signals for noise reduction and echo cancellation, enhancing the acquired signals, even in noisy and multi-speaker scenarios.

"Implementing Kardome Mobility on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX underscores the unmatched value of our technology," says Dani Cherkassky, CEO of Kardome. "The availability of Kardome’s voice AI innovation supported on NVIDIA DRIVE can enable OEMs to deliver the ultimate in-cabin voice recognition and communication experience."
