New Beyma Products Introduced at Prolight+Sound 2015

April 24 2015, 03:00
During the 2015 Prolight+Sound show, in Frankfurt, Beyma introduced some new products, the direct result of its most recent development efforts. Among the new drivers introduced at the show, as previously announced during the 2015 NAMM show, was the new WR family, which is composed by three new designed low frequency drivers: 10” (10WR300), 12” (12WR400) and 15” (15WR400).

Designed with a ceramic magnet, the three WR woofers have very competitive features and high performance for a very wide application target, from low frequency way to mid-bass applications. The 10WR300 is designed with a 2” copper coil and features an excellent balance between power handling, linear response and sensitivity, thanks to the optimized FEA motor structure design and the MMSS technology.

The 12WR400 and 15WR400 speakers have been designed with a 3” copper coil and also feature an extended and linear response which allows correct coupling with a midrange or a compression driver, depending on the system architecture and needs in the application. Beyma’s FEA optimized motor structure and MMSS technology have been also applied to these two models, with excellent efficiency and low distortion results.

According to the Valencia, Spain manufacturer, the three new WR models will provide optimum low frequency results in small and medium sized vented cabinets. Thanks to the new waterproof cones, its linear performance in a wide frequency range, and tonal accuracy in mid frequencies, allow the three speakers to be used for a wide range of professional applications.

Extending the coaxial family, Beyma introduced a new 8” coaxial driver, the new 8CX300Fe, designed for full range applications (80 to 20,000 Hz usable range), with an extended low frequency response and accurate high frequencies thanks to the exclusive PM4 diaphragm. Beyma describes the new driver as an excellent choice for high performance bass reflex cabinets. The new coaxial design is based on a common ferrite magnet, reducing the depth and weight of the unit but keeping high grade performance in the whole frequency range, with controlled and linear excursions in the lows.

Previewed for the first time at Prolight+Sound, Beyma was displaying an upgraded version of its renowned 15P1000Fe subwoofer model, the new 15P1000FeV2. Available soon, the 15P1000FeV2 features a redesigned magnetic assembly and convection circuit for enhanced efficiency and extremely low air noise. The result, as Beyma explained, sounds even better than the previous model.

Last but not least, Beyma’s R&D team has been working in several improvements in some of their current range low frequency transducers. Among the models on display, the 12P80NdV2 and 8P300Fe/N improved drivers feature important improvements in SPL, non-linear behavior with larger displacement and reduced distortion. According to Beyma, the new improved models will be also released soon.
