Summit Wireless Technologies reported its fourth quarter and full year 2021 financial results and use the conference call to announce the change to WiSA Technologies, Inc. The name change reflects the company's strategy to leverage its core technology into new consumer market segments in 2022, while maintaining its Wireless Speaker and Audio Association independent role to promote WiSA ecosystems for consumers, retailers and WiSA Association members.

Focusrite plc Acquires DSP and Amplifier Experts Linea Research Holdings

Focusrite plc, the British music and audio conglomerate company that also owns Martin Audio among other brands - and recently created Optimal Audio - announced the acquisition of Linea Research Holdings Ltd, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of professional audio equipment. The acquisition allows Focusrite to add a very strong audio amplifier and signal processing company to the group, while the founders of Linea Research join the fast growing Focusrite Group.

DSP Concepts Launches TWS Toolkit Powered by Audio Weaver

DSP Concepts announced the availability of a new toolkit for True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds powered by its Audio Weaver development platform. The toolkit features a reference design optimized to run on the Cadence Tensilica HiFi 5 DSP in partnership with Airoha, a MediaTek subsidiary and manufacturer of low-power TWS Systems on Chip (SoCs). The development kit also includes a reference design with a fully operational earbud prototype designed by Knowles.

USound Announces Fully Integrated MEMS Audio Modules for True Wireless Earbuds

USound, the developer and manufacturer of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) speakers for personal devices and wearables, announced an expanded partnership with AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik, a manufacturer of high-end printed circuit boards and integrated circuit substrates, to manufacture USound’s new fully integrated audio module for True Wireless Earbuds (TWS). The new audio modules can be 75% smaller and 85% lighter, with improved sound quality, compared to current TWS solutions.
