Swedish digital audio processing pioneer Dirac and Sound United, one of the world’s largest portfolio audio companies, announced a collaboration to make the Dirac Live room correction solution available in several new AV receivers and AV preamplifiers from Denon and Marantz – elevating both companies’ home theater capabilities and offering premium, high-quality audio experiences at a range of price points. Six new home theater products from Denon and Marantz will now come “Dirac Ready” to run the Dirac Live solution.

New High Quality, Low Latency Digital Wireless Transmission Solution Available from Audio Codecs

Audio Codecs, a new Belfast-based company and the developers of the Skylark digital audio data compression algorithm designed for low latency, joined forces with Virscient, a New Zealand based RF consultancy house, to launch a new wireless audio transmission module using Bluetooth Low Energy. The solution uses a Nordic Bluetooth LE SoC to transmit a 24-bit/48kHz high quality, low latency digital wireless microphone signal.

Taiwan-based Airoha Technology announced that its new series of Bluetooth audio chips have successfully completed the latest Bluetooth Low Energy Audio Qualification Process and will be "widely available" to manufacturers in the first half of 2023. Airoha is one of the most important suppliers of chips for true wireless earbuds and the LE Audio certification is also an important R&D achievement for its Bluetooth audio R&D team consisted of hundreds of engineers.

Audio Industry Survey Reveals Trends and Concerns in Audio Archiving

Based on key topics raised during an Iron Mountain Entertainment Services (IMES) and Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing (P&E Wing) co-hosted 2021 summit “Protecting Legacies: The Art, Science and Value of Music Archives,” IMES, the P&E Wing and the Audio Engineering Society (AES) developed a survey to assess current practices and challenges in audio archiving. The survey was sent to approximately 4,000 members of the P&E Wing and 11,000 members of the AES.
