Jonny McClintock, currently the Director of Virscient’s Connected Audio Centre of Excellence, has worked in the audio industry for more than 30 years. Having graduated from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown, Belfast, in 1986, he joined Dolby Laboratories in London and worked on the Dolby SR (Spectral Recording) noise reduction format and cinema products. In 1993, he moved back to Ireland and started working as Commercial Director for Audio Processing Technology (APT). In 2005 he headed a management buyout that led to the creation of APT Licensing, Ltd., continuing as Director of aptX Sales & Marketing after Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR, PLC) bought APT in 2010, and Qualcomm subsequently took over CSR in 2015. He left Qualcomm in 2022 to work as the Commercial Director for AntennaWare, and work as a consultant in different companies, including Sonical. His passion is driving start-ups and helping them scale their business.
