Realtek Semiconductor and Alango Technologies Partner to Offer Advanced Solution for In-Car Communication

Realtek Semiconductor and Alango Technologies, have announced a collaboration to deliver a joint solution aimed at facilitating In-Car Communication (ICC) between the driver and passengers to improve safety, convenience, and overall satisfaction during travel. According to Alango, the solution uses its ICC software package ported and optimized for the Realtek ALC5575 audio processor. The Alango ICC technology suite running on ALC5575 was successfully demonstrated by Realtek to Computex visitors in June 2024.

The XL3 now supports speech intelligibility measurements according to the IEC60268-16 STIPA international standard. Together with NTi's TalkBox (acoustic) and MR-PRO (electrical) signal sources, the XL3 is now an ideal tool for efficient and reliable STIPA measurement tasks, allowing the measured values to be conveniently visualized in a report.

The STAX Spirit S5 improves on the quality of the audio experience with its 2nd gen EqualMass wiring technology, 2μm thin film and a new calibration approach of the planar drivers, which Edifier say achieve a performance comparable to legendary electrostatic headphones. LG Acquires Dutch Startup Athom to Accelerate its AI-Enabled Smart-Home Ecosystem

The story was out for a few days, but now it's officially confirmed that LG Electronics recently acquired an 80 percent stake in Athom, the Dutch smart home company based in Enschede, Netherlands. Known for its Homey smart home platform, the startup was struggling and lacked the scale that LG will provide. The agreement includes plans for LG to acquire the remaining 20 percent within the next three years. LG will maintain Athom as a separate operation, while expanding its own open smart home ecosystems globally.

The promoters of the Lone Star Audiofest and T.H.E. Show - two long-standing regional hifi audio shows - have announced a landmark cooperative venture to promote a new joint effort to take place in Austin, Texas. The new event would be (hopefully tentatively) called T.H.E. Lone Star Audiofest, sponsored by T.H.E. Enterprises, and take place in late spring 2025 (May 2-4), expanding its original scope from local companies and DIY, to attract manufacturers and more distributors.
