Silicon Labs Streamlines Energy Harvesting Product Development for Battery-Free Wireless Connected Designs

Silicon Labs has announced its most energy-efficient Wireless SoC to date with energy harvesting-ready capabilities. To signal Earth Day 2024, Silicon Labs launched its new xG22E family of Wireless SoCs, Silicon Labs' first-ever family designed to operate within the ultra-low power envelope required for battery-free, energy harvesting applications. The new family consists of the BG22E, MG22E, and FG22E, with "E" standing for "energy conservation."

Nordic Semiconductor has announced that its nRF5340 high-end multiprotocol Bluetooth 5.2 System-on-Chip (SoC) has entered volume production. The world’s first dual Arm Cortex-M33 wireless SoC is now available and offers all the advanced features and security required for the next-generation of connected audio applications including LE Audio and advanced wearables. The new SoC is now widely commercially available through Nordic’s distribution network.

Silicon Labs introduced a fully integrated, pre-certified Bluetooth module that gives developers an optimal combination of small footprint, ease of use and low-energy technology for short-range wireless applications. The new Blue Gecko BGM113 module provides a small-form-factor Bluetooth 4.1-compliant connectivity solution with 3 dBm output power for applications typically requiring up to a 50 meter range.
