This article details how thin-ply carbon diaphragm (TPCD) technology can also be applied to headphones, allowing precise control of diaphragm resonances rather than trying to reduce its negative effects, as the speaker industry already recognizes. As the pioneer of TPCD technology, Composite Sound is now entering the over-ear headphone market with its Metamodal TPCD engineering approach, enabling headphones with better sound quality, improved bass performance, and higher sensitivity.

Test Bench: SB Acoustics’ WO24TX-4 Satori 9.5” Midbass Woofer

This midbass woofer is the latest product from SB Acoustics to feature a Composite Sound Thin-ply Carbon Diaphragm (TPCD) cone and another significant product from its Satori Line of high end drivers. The SB Acoustics WO24TX-4 Satori features a curvilinear inverted single piece “bowl” shaped TPCD cone. SB Acoustics Launches Much Anticipated 9.5-Inch Satori TeXtreme Woofers

The SB Acoustics Satori TeXtreme range using Thin-ply Carbon Diaphragms (TPCD) has now expanded to four sizes. So far the biggest commercially available TPCD driver using the increasingly popular technology, the SB Acoustics Satori 9.5" woofer with a 2" voice coil, is now available in 4 and 8 ohm variants. The thunder from the extended bass response of the new model WO24TX-4 and model WO24TX-8 woofers will no doubt be soon felt at hifi shows all over the planet.

The Satori MW19TX-8 TPCD cone 7.5" woofer is the fourth TPCD diaphragm transducer to be explicated in Test Bench, the first being an Eminence compression driver and the remaining all woofers from SB Acoustics.
