XMOS Strengthens Its Position In Voice Interfaces with XVF3610 and XVF3615 Voice Processors

British chip company XMOS announced the launch of the XVF3610 and XVF3615 next generation voice processors. These high-performance two-mic voice interfaces for wireless speakers, TVs, set-top boxes, smart home appliances, gateway products and more, are built on the company's xcore.ai chip infrastructure, and are available in a cost-effective and easy-to-integrate package. XMOS also kick-started an alpha program for its all new ‘Avona’ voice reference design.

XMOS announced its all-new software development kit (SDK) for the artificial intelligence of things (AIoT). Designed to harness xcore.ai, the company's latest crossover processor, combining high performance AI, DSP, I/O and control in a single economical device, the new AIoT SDK makes it easier for engineers to develop connected products that can sense, think, decide and act. The XMOS SDK incorporates TensorFlowLite for Microcontroller development tools.

CEVA announced that its CEVA-BX DSP cores and WhisPro speech recognition software now also support TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers, a production ready, cross-platform framework for deploying tiny machine learning on power-efficient processors in edge devices. WhisPro is CEVA's speech recognition software for voice wake words and custom command models. TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers is a solution from Google for implementing machine learning at the edge, already optimized and available for CEVA-BX DSP cores.

Knowles Corporation announced the IA8201, the latest product in its Knowles AISonic family of audio edge processors. The IA8201 offers robust voice activation and multi-microphone audio processing optimized for power-sensitive applications, and is the first processor specifically designed for advanced audio and machine learning applications, enhancing power-efficient intelligence and privacy at the network’s edge. This processor has the compute power to perform advanced audio output, context awareness and gesture control for today’s most advanced consumer electronics.
