xMEMS Launches Montara Monolithic Piezo-MEMS Speaker

Following a year of private demonstrations of its novel MEMS speaker design, xMEMS Labs is now coming out of stealth mode with is first piezo-MEMS speaker. Montara is the name for what the company claims to be "the world’s first true MEMS speaker," using a monolithic process that eliminates calibration and driver matching, and is SMT-ready. Montara also offers full-bandwidth (20Hz-20kHz), and is fully water, dust and shock resistant.

Bose Professional announced today that its new DesignMax family of loudspeakers has begun shipping in Europe and will be available in the U.S. in November 2019. DesignMax delivers the critical performance needed while providing the flexibility and style to blend into any commercial space. Consisting of 10 loudspeakers and two subwoofers — including ceiling- and surface-mounted options available in either black or white — system designers can tailor DesignMax to fit applications of any size.

During InfoComm 2019, QSC introduced an extension to its AcousticDesign column surface-mount loudspeaker series with the new AD-S402T model. The column uses four weather-treaded 2.5-inch transducers and is capable of 70 V / 100 V or 8 ohm bypass loads, making it highly optimized for delivering high quality sound performance within challenging acoustic environments. Innovative acoustics and unique mounting solutions meet the needs of reverberant and other architecturally complex spaces.

Introduced at the InfoComm 2014 show, QSC’s three new fixed installation loudspeakers offer integrators additional options. The new AD-S6T two-way speaker and AD-S112sw subwoofer expand the AcousticDesign Series, while the new in-ceiling AC-C4T is part a new AcousticCoverage loudspeaker line.
