Schurter Extends FMAB NEO Single-Phase Block AC Filter Series with New High-Performance Model

Schurter, a leading provider of EMC filters, introduced its new FMAB NEO High-Performance single-phase AC block filter, designed to meet the demands of increasing electromagnetic interference generated in modern-day electronic applications. The new 1-stage-line-filter with high attenuation is available with ground line choke and multiple case variants for class II protection with optimal symmetrical noise attenuation characteristics.

Schurter continues to meet today’s increasing demand for smaller electronic equipment with the launch of its 5121 filtered appliance power inlet connector system. The new, compact filter series features an IEC C14 inlet with capacitors and a fully enclosed steel housing that reliably shields high-frequency interference conducted through cables or radiated interference.

Schurter introduced a new waterproof IEC connector consisting of the appliance inlet type 4761 and the rewireable cord connector type 4762. With its high protection class IP67 or IP69K connected or unconnected with cover, this appliance coupler is perfect for supplying power to appliances used in harsh environments such as industrial, marine, laboratories or any type of outdoor appliances.

Schurter’s 6610 series appliance outlet according to IEC 60320-2-2, Style F, is now available with an integrated light pipe. The fiberglass light pipe indicates operational status, or other function status, as an optional feature to standard connectors. It is designed to channel light from LEDs on the printed-circuit board to the front of the connector. The new technology offers flexible design options including the number of light pipes, 1-4, as well as options for light pipe lengths and diameters.

Switched mode circuits are increasingly being used today in electronic devices. Due to the rapid switching speeds found in these switched mode circuits, the probability of high frequency ground connection interferences is also becoming more prevalent. A correctly specified and placed ground choke, using Schurter’s range of power IEC modules with line filter and optional voltage selector (step switch), offers a simple and safe solution.
