QSC Celebrates 50 Years and Major Product Milestones at NAMM 2018

From its humble beginnings as the maker of garage-made guitar amplifiers to today’s leading brand of professional AV for live sound, cinema and corporate installations worldwide, QSC has good reasons to celebrate reaching its 50th anniversary. During NAMM 2018 the QSC founders were honored with a NAMM Milestone Award for 50 Years of Service in the music products industry. The company also celebrated the achievement of one million K Series loudspeakers sold, and introduced new products.

French speaker and headphone manufacturer Focal unveiled the company’s new generation of its Sib Evo home cinema loudspeakers featuring Dolby Atmos technology. Easy to install and use, the Sib Evo Dolby Atmos system was designed for users looking to improve its home theater experience and are also available as a 2.0 pack, or can be used to upgrade a 5.1 system to a 5.1.2 system without having to change all loudspeakers.

As QSC approaches the celebration of nearly one million K Family loudspeakers sold since their introduction in 2009, the company announced the newest member of the family, the K Cardioid Subwoofer. Deploying QSC amplification and advanced DSP in a single, compact enclosure, the K Cardioid Subwoofer represents the world’s first-in-class single-box powered cardioid subwoofer solution for highly portable entertainment and installation applications.

K.I.S.S. AV, a startup in high performance home audio products, launched their crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for their immersive audio system. Using technology that existed previously only in expensive, architectural speakers, K.I.S.S. AV is redefining what is possible from thin on-wall speakers with a 2.1-channel system. K.I.S.S. AV powered on-wall speakers and wireless powered subwoofer are easy-to-install and feature Sonic Vortex patented speaker design technology.

Expanding the remarkable legacy of its EON Series, JBL Professional introduced the new EON208P portable PA system now with 8” speakers, Bluetooth streaming, integrated 8-channel mixer and more. The EON range was also expanded with the new EON618S 18-inch, 1000W powered subwoofer with wireless control, providing a powerful low-frequency extension to the EON series.

At CES 2016, Thiel Audio will introduce a new SmartSub using a proprietary long excursion 12-inch driver and DSP-controlled 1250 watt amplifier, which works with a sophisticated control app and advanced DSP room correction. The SmartSub 1.12 powered subwoofer features six user-accessible Sound Mode Presets to adjust it for any style of music, movies and even gaming content.
