Merging Technologies Unveils Personal Monitoring Mixer Application for Anubis

Merging Technologies, the innovative Swiss manufacturer of digital audio solutions, has announced a new software configuration for its Anubis compact AD/DA converter and audio network recording interface. Now, the Anubis receives a Personal Monitor Mixer configuration, or Venue Mission, for musicians and performance applications. Merging also recently launched an interpretation configuration for the Anubis, in collaboration with Sennheiser.

Delivering on the promise of significantly expanding its product portfolio for demanding recording applications, Audix confirmed it is now shipping the new A127 Omnidirectional Metal Film Condenser Microphone. For the Oregon-based microphone manufacturer, the A127 is the culmination of years of research and development in condenser technology, designed to capture acoustic instruments with transparency, accuracy and purity.

It is common knowledge among sound engineers that every musical instrument has a specific sound radiation pattern and that its recorded sound depends on where the microphone is placed in relation to that instrument. Investigating this fact has led to a fascinating collaboration between Kazuya Nagae, a sound recording Associate Professor from Soundmedia Composition Course, Nagoya University of the Arts, and Thorsten Weigelt, a Tonmeister and professor from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK).
