Musikmesse and Prolight+Sound 2018 Report Signals Upward Trend for Internationality and Exhibitor Satisfaction

The Saturday-evening concert by Dionne Warwick and the New Philharmonic Orchestra Frankfurt marked the end of a week of music and events. 1,803 companies from 56 countries launched their latest products during the five days of Musikmesse and Prolight+Sound 2018. For 2019, Frankfurt Messe promises to return to a unified format, with Musikmesse and Prolight+Sound overlaping fully on all days and move closer together spatially.

Ultimate Ears announced two new in-ear monitors, including a new flagship in-ear monitor (Ultimate Ears LIVE) and a separate new in-ear monitor (Ultimate Ears 6 PRO) for improved rhythm and bass response. Plus, the entire Ultimate Ears in-ear monitor lineup has been updated with a new cable connection system (Ultimate Ears IPX Connection System) to withstand the rigors of music touring and minimize service and maintenance.

DPA Microphones is known throughout the audio industry for developing small miniature condenser microphones with superior sound quality for various professional environments. At NAB 2018 and Musikmesse 2018, DPA introduced its recently launched ‘CORE by DPA’ amplifier technology to the d:vote 4099 range of Instrument Microphones, to create an even clearer sound by lowering overall distortion and expanding the dynamic range. CORE technology was already available in d:screet miniature lavalier, and d:fine headset microphones.

Just before Musikmesse 2018 opened its doors in Frankfurt (April 11-14), Steinberg revealed the new UR-RT2 and UR-RT4 audio recording interfaces, the result of a collaboration between Steinberg and Rupert Neve Designs. By factoring in the engineering expertise at Yamaha, these two new USB audio interfaces deliver very high quality results on any type of production, combining a durable chassis with top quality components, including transformers by Rupert Neve Designs.

Musikmesse (11 to 14 April 2018) and Prolight+Sound (10 to 13 April 2018) will once again bring together companies with retailers, professionals from the musical-instrument, event and media-technologies sectors, as well as musicians from all over the world. In 2017, the two events attracted a total of around 100,000 visitors from 144 countries to Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. In 2018, the Frankfurt Messe will reinforce the professional focus and synergies between the two shows.
