JBL introduced its L75ms Music System, a modern reimagining of the traditional hi-fi system, now with wired and wireless connectivity, a classic walnut wood veneer cabinet finish and black Quadrex foam grille. Also new is the JBL L52 Classic bookshelf loudspeaker, available with Quadrex foam grilles in a choice of black, blue, or orange.

In order to meet the quality expectations of their users, high-end consumer electronics manufacturer Bang & Olufsen decided on the new open standard LC3plus codec from Fraunhofer IIS for their wireless streaming devices. LC3plus is currently the most advanced solution that combines support for high-resolution audio with low delay. LC3plus has been standardized by ETSI as TS 103 634, and is the first solution to support high-resolution music streaming services also over wireless accessories.

As promised, Apple is now offering Spatial Audio and Lossless Audio options for subscribers of its Music streaming service. The update includes Lossless and High-Resolution Audio support. But the big push is going towards Spatial Audio. Basically Apple is saying: "Lossless Audio is here, it's free, so use it and shut-up about it." And meanwhile, Apple suggests we go listen to Spatial Audio which is dubbed like "HD for music," or "the next big thing after Stereo." Is it really?

Folgueira takes over the position from Hans-Holger Albrecht, an entertainment industry veteran who has been responsible for the company’s transformation and growth since 2015. Apple Confirms Lossless Audio and Spatial Audio Are Coming to Apple Music June 2021

Apple announced that Apple Music will be offering Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos tracks, as well as offering its entire catalog in Lossless Audio, at no additional cost for subscribers, starting June 2021. Lossless will use ALAC file format, and support 24-bit/48kHz as standard, with Hi-Res Lossless Audio files available up to 24-bit/192kHz. Apple is even promoting the fact that Hi-Res Lossless will require external equipment, such as a USB digital-to-analog converter (DAC)!
