Fraunhofer to Present Uphear Flexible Rendering at CES 2025

Once again the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (Fraunhofer IIS) will present its most recent advanced audio technologies at CES 2025. Targeting new consumer audio applications, the highlight will be upHear Flexible Rendering, a new technology that automatically combines all available speakers to generate an enveloping immersive sound field. This greatly simplifies high-quality immersive sound experiences on consumer audio reproduction devices, including loudspeakers, soundbars, and TVs.

Following the introduction of the Yamaha YVC-200 Portable USB + Bluetooth Speakerphone in 2018, Yamaha Unified Communications gradually increased its range of professional-quality portable conference solutions, including new YVC Speakerphone models, the CS-700 Video Soundbar and further conference room speaker and microphone solutions. Since 2020, Yamaha refocused this powerful range of communication products to respond to the more diverse needs of work from home and remote collaboration.

DSP Concepts announced that TalkTo, its suite of proprietary microphone processing algorithms that use adaptive learning technology to deliver a quiet-room experience in noisy and unpredictable environments, has been qualified by Amazon for Alexa built-in devices using Alexa Voice Service (AVS). This enables more hardware brands to easily build Alexa built-in devices that will perform well even in noisy situations, thanks to TalkTo’s leading sound cancellation technology.

DSP Concepts has launched TalkTo, a new brand and a major expansion of its voice recognition technologies. TalkTo is a family of software-based Audio Front Ends for voice-controlled products. It uses advanced microphone processing and machine learning techniques to deliver highly reliable voice control, even in high-noise environments and with multichannel audio products. According to the company, TakTo will enable voice interfaces even in the most difficult classes of products, like TVs and soundbars.
