AES 2019 International Conference on Headphone Technology: It Should Happen Every Year!

Like the previous conference that was held in 2016 in Aalborg, Denmark, the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Headphone Technology Conference in San Francisco, was a very successful and insightful event for all the participants. The Presidio park venue was also idyllic with the usual crisp waterfront weather. Perhaps too successful, as the event was sold out before it opened.

At CES 2019, Sennheiser will be providing visitors with the unique opportunity to explore the world of Augmented Audio and craft their very own AMBEO AR experience. The company will promote listening sessions of the much anticipated AMBEO Soundbar, finally revealing the latest in immersive 3D sound to the home and a remarkably spatial sonic experience with immersive 5.1.4 sound and deep bass in a single all-in-one device. Visitors to CES can also get hands on with the new MOMENTUM True Wireless earphones.

Delivering on the collaboration announcement with Magic Leap, Sennheiser unveiled the AMBEO AR One in-ear headphones – the first spatial listening accessory to receive official certification by Magic Leap, the spatial computing and augmented reality pioneer. Also launched is the accompanying AMBEO Augmented Audio Lab app, providing users with full control over environmental sound and enabling developers and creators to craft powerful spatial computing experiences in which real sounds seamlessly blend with virtual audio.

Extending its engagement in VR/AR applications, Sennheiser has partnered with spatial computing and mixed reality specialist Magic Leap and joined the “Works with Magic Leap” certification program. This partnership consolidates Sennheiser’s presence and thought leadership in spatial audio as it continues to develop innovative audio tools for spatial audio visionaries and content creators.
