Audio Engineering Society Announces 2024 Election Results

The Audio Engineering Society has announced the incoming Officers and Governors following the 2024 Board of Directors and Board of Governors elections. The Society’s membership has elected Brecht De Man, as President-Elect. De Man will serve one-year terms on the AES Board of Directors as President-Elect in 2025, in 2026 as President, in 2027 as Past President, followed by two years as a Governor. All those newly elected will begin their terms on January 1, 2025, when Gary Gottlieb will become AES President.

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) bestowed seven members with esteemed Society honors at the opening ceremony of its 2024 AES European Convention in Madrid, the organization's 156th AES Convention. In addition, the Convention’s Papers Chairs presented the event’s best papers awards, and the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society (JAES) Best Paper of 2023 award.

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) was presented with a prestigious Technical Grammy Award during Grammy Week 2023. Acting AES President Bruce Olson and AES President-Elect Leslie Gaston-Bird accepted the Special Merit Award on behalf of the Society during a ceremony held by the Recording Academy on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Society’s membership has elected Leslie Gaston-Bird, as President-Elect. Gaston-Bird will serve a year on the AES Board of Directors as President-Elect, in 2024 as President, in 2025 as Past-President, followed by two years as a Governor. All those newly elected will begin their terms on January 1, 2023.
