AIMS Expands Membership Access to Individuals

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) announced that it has expanded its membership access to individuals such as consultants, engineers, and educators including sole employees or sole proprietors of a corporation and individuals who do not formally represent any company within the media industry. The new membership level is also open to students, researchers, and others actively associated with an institution of higher education.

Merging Technologies has gained a justifiable reputation for supplying enabling tools for AES67/Ravenna AoIP networks that have more recently been incorporated into the ST2110 standards. The freeware CoreAudio VAD has been downloaded thousands of times and the Linux ALSA driver has found favor with a number of OEMs. Meanwhile, the ASIO driver supplied with Merging interfaces was beginning to show its age and lacked some key features. In response, Merging introduced a new Merging Audio Device (MAD) driver, which totally redefines possibilities and introduces a new enhanced MAD Infrastructure option.

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) and the Audio Engineering Society (AES) announced the complete lineup of presentations for the Audio/Video-over-IP Technology Pavilion Theater at the upcoming AES New York 2019 show, scheduled for Oct. 16-18 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Over the three-day convention, the theater will feature a continuous program of 30-minute presentations covering a broad range of topics on audio and video networking over IP.
