Bang & Olufsen Beoconnect Core Expands Wireless Audio Options with UWB and LC3plus

Bang & Olufsen announced Beoconnect Core, described as a new streaming box that turns legacy Bang & Olufsen speakers into a wireless speaker system. But under the hood Beoconnect Core is effectively an extremely advanced hub that combines all legacy connectivity options found in the company's products for more than 30 years with the latest wireless technologies, including UWB, and using Fraunhofer IIS' LC3plus high resolution codec.

Under the theme of "Realtek AI Changing the Future," the Taiwan semiconductor company will exhibit at the AWE China Expo (March 14-17, 2024), at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). Showcasing the possibilities of AI in connected applications, Realtek will present a hybrid AIoT Audio SoC that supports both dual‑band Wi‑Fi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz) and dual-mode Bluetooth 5.2 to enable low-latency, high resolution audio playback applications.

Frontier Smart Technologies unveiled a collaboration with Realtek for its AURIA Bluetooth LE Audio and Wi-Fi module, which features Auracast support. The audio module has been designed and engineered for simple integration into various audio products, and comes with a customizable SDK, rich I/O, comprehensive documentation and technical support. The latest Realtek Ameba chips ensure support for the latest technologies.
