Focal Chooses SPARK Microsystems' UWB Wireless Technology for New Diva Utopia Speakers

Focal introduced the new Diva Utopia to the world, its first wireless, connected, active loudspeaker. This design is the result of five years of development by French and British engineering teams from Focal Naim, and represents the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of hifi to unprecedented levels. The new Diva Utopia speakers combine Naim electronics, the latest UWB wireless technologies from SPARK Microsystems in the ultimate vision of the Focal Utopia philosophy.

In celebration of their 60th anniversary, KEF has launched the LS60 Wireless - an all-in-one, high fidelity streaming audio system. The product features the latest high-performance KEF key acoustic technologies for the highest streaming performance available to date, including the 12th Generation Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology and two pairs of Uni-Core drivers. The two floorstanding active speakers can be expanded with up to two KEF subwoofers via sub output on each speaker and can configured to work either wired or wireless to allow for complete positioning freedom within a room.

LG Electronics (LG) unveiled a new speaker solution specifically for gaming, which may signal the onset of a new headset-free design, with large potential for all home office applications. The new LG UltraGear Gaming Speaker (model GP9) was designed to be a companion to LG’s premium UltraGear gaming monitors, with game-optimized sound. But the technical specs reveal a whole lot more, making it a very interesting speaker/sound system.

British audio brand Q Acoustics announced the Q Active 200 bookshelf speakers, its first active design, soon to be complemented with the Q Active 400 tower speakers. The Q Active series are the result of the company’s 14-year heritage and expertise in speaker design, in an effort to offer the ultimate combination of convenience, style, sound-quality, and value for money. To achieve those goals, the speakers feature two Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) drivers from Tectonic Audio Labs, with its wide directivity output, and controlled modal behavior.
