Fraunhofer IIS Showcases Cutting-Edge Media Technologies at CES 2023

The current generation of Fraunhofer's technologies enables the creation, transmission, and experience of an entirely new universe of immersive and high quality sound. Looking to showcase tomorrow's audio experiences and cooperate with manufacturers to bring state-of-the-art audio technologies into their products, the research institute will be at CES 2023, in Las Vegas (January 5 - 8), at booth 15915 in the Central Hall.

Alps Alpine North America launched its TIDAL integration available via a free software update. The compatible head units include the new Alpine Halo11 iLX-F511, the Alpine Halo9 iLX-F509, the iLX-507, and Jeep-specific radios i509-WRA-JK and i509-WRA-JL. Alpine is the first aftermarket car audio company with full TIDAL integration, allowing subscribers to the service to stream and download hi-res files in MQA format or lossless audio at CD quality.

STMicroelectronics announced its latest TDA7901 single-chip quad-bridge automotive amplifier using the company's advanced BCD (Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) technology, integrates a buck controller for class-G power switching, and supports high-resolution audio. The TDA7901 features a full D/A converter, digital input for direct connection to I2S (or TDM) and powerful MOSFET output stages. A market-unique combination that STMicro says will be ideal for listening and high efficiency.

Alps Alpine, the manufacturer of electronic components and automotive infotainment systems and its domestic marketing division Alpine Electronics of America, announced a new series of products aimed at taking high resolution audio reproduction in car audio to a whole new level.
