DB Enterprises Now Offering Headphone Drivers Using Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Surrounds in Standard Configurations

DB Enterprises announced availability of four new off-the-shelf headphone drivers from VM Sound using liquid silicone rubber (LSR) surround technology. Available in 7mm, 9.2mm, 13.4mm, and 40mm sizes, these drivers are available with different diaphragm materials, including Nomex, aluminum and magnesium alloy. VM Sound's Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) surrounds can be used with paper, metal or composite drivers, enabling a very high precision, high performance, and high yield method of constructing headphone drivers and microspeakers.

BDNC Holding Ltd is now in production of its highly advanced flat glass-composite diaphragm woofer. Available through Digikey under the brand STAPEZ, this new innovative drivers use ultra-thin tempered glass as the diaphragm, combined in a low-profile woofer able to produce extended bass response. At present, the smallest size is 80 mm × 20 mm × 7.2 mm but BDNC is also working on smaller models and already launched a 40mm headphone driver using the glass-composite technology.

Zumi Systems, a company dedicated to the development and manufacturing of audio measurement tools, announced a new range of headphone measurement solutions which the company believes can be a dream tool for development and production operations. All ZUMI products are case specific, highly integrated instruments. The range includes the self-contained HP70 headphone measurement instrument, the EP8 earphone tester, the ZUMI DT70 portable tester for headphone drivers, and a core system board for integration in custom built test fixtures.
