Sound Devices Expands Astral Wireless Products for Live Sound Markets

Sound Devices, now part of the Audiotonix group, has been a major player in field recording and location sound for 25 years. The latest products that Sound Devices launched in its wireless Astral range have features that serve not only film and television applications but propel the company into the global live sound market. Group One Limited will now carry the distribution of those live sound products in the United States.

Solid State Logic (SSL) decided it was time to revisit the company’s analog origins with a new studio classic console. Visitors to the AES NY 2019 convention had the chance to witness the first preview of the Origin analog console, the latest in a long heritage of SSL studio mixing consoles. Origin has a traditional analog studio workflow at its heart whilst providing the perfect partner for a modern DAW driven ‘hybrid’ production studio.
