Sennheiser Invests in Norwegian Optical MEMS Microphone Pioneer sensiBel

sensiBel announced a new successful 7 million Euros funding round with Sennheiser leading the investment together with existing main shareholders TRUMPF Venture, Skagerak Capital, Investinor, SINTEF Venture, MP Pensjon and Halden Kommunale Pensjonskasse. The funds will be used to expand production and invest in scalability of sensiBel’s patented optical MEMS microphones that offer 80dBA SNR and 132dB of dynamic range, a new level of performance for packaged miniature microphones.

sensiBel is a Norwegian company developing a new generation of MEMS microphones using patented optical technology that they believe will be able to reach 80dB SNR and rival conventional studio microphone capsules, with all the benefits of a fully encapsulated solution. The company now announced a successful funding round of 15 million Euros, led by Germany’s TRUMPF Venture and including The European Council’s EIC Fund, Skagerak Capital, Investinor, and SINTEF Venture IV. sensiBel will use the funding to ramp up production.

DSP Concepts, the company founded by Paul and Chin Beckmann, and the creators of the Audio Weaver DSP platform that powers sound and voice features in many of the world's leading consumer and automotive brands, announced that it has successfully closed $28 million in Series C funding. Joining as leading investor, entrepreneur Yuchun Lee has been appointed as Executive Chairman and is intent on leading the company's growth as the enabler of the "Audio of Things."

Berlin-based Mimi Hearing Technologies has successfully closed a new funding round led by progressive German deep-tech investors MIG Capital and a larger Munich based family office, joined by existing shareholders as Mimi continues to bridge the gap between hearing wellbeing and audio consumption. The new funds will support expansion of Mimi's technology platform as well as marketing and sales operations in the US and Asia, as the company closes new deals with more audio manufacturers.

Resonado Labs announced the closing of its Series-Seed venture capital round at $3M, bringing the total raised to date to $5.2M including Pre-Seed funding. The capital will accelerate the commercialization of Resonado Labs’ proprietary, novel Flat Core Speaker (FCS) technology, help the company develop a wider array of drivers, and invest in new talent and test and measurement equipment. Resonado is intent on rapidly expand into the automotive, marine, and home audio industries.
